Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily HR operations and administrative tasks
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
  • Support recruitment efforts (job postings, scheduling interviews, onboarding)

  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide general HR support

  • Associate's in human resources or related field preferred

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
2. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Director or Department Director.
3. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
4. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
5. Provides clerical support to the HR, CEO & Fiscal department.
6. Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
7. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
5. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
6. Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
7. Ability to obtain and maintain a driver's license, automobile, and current valid insurance in order to travel to designation locations.
8. Knowledge of Agency's policies, practices and procedures.
9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and various other business and community contacts.
10. Ability to work with confidential information.
11. Ability to work in a team-based environment.
12. Ability to adapt to the organization's changing needs.
