Valto is seeking an HR Generalist to be based at our Headquarters in Channahon, IL. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will support multiple functional groupsโ€”including Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance, and R&Dโ€”while partnering closely with HR Managers across our facilities.

This position plays a critical role in driving consistent HR policies and practices, supporting key initiatives and projects, and helping translate HR strategy into dayโ€‘toโ€‘day execution that promotes a positive and engaging workplace culture.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a passion for recruitment, talent management, reporting, and process improvement. They will bring a proactive mindset, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a willingness to challenge the status quo to drive meaningful impact.

A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.

How youโ€™ll make an impact:

  • Partner with hiring managers to evaluate current and future talent needs and ensure appropriate staffing levels. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, with a strong focus on interviewing and selection to maintain a consistent, highโ€‘quality talent pipeline. Support managers in the effective use of selection criteria and onboarding tools.
  • Support and administer organizational programs related to employee development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning to enable current business objectives and future growth.
  • Own companyโ€‘wide HR metrics, reporting, and process improvement initiatives by preparing HR reports and dashboards, identifying opportunities for improvement, and participating in crossโ€‘functional HR projects.
  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits to manage all companyโ€‘wide leaves of absence, ensuring accurate administration, compliance, and timely communication with HR team, managers and associates throughout the leave lifecycle.
  • Lead companyโ€‘wide volunteerism efforts in partnership with the broader HR team.
  • Serve as a backup to the Joliet HR Manager as needed.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions, escalating complex or highโ€‘risk issues to the Vice President of Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HRIS systems, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP highly preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
