Valto is seeking an HR Generalist to be based at our Headquarters in Channahon, IL. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will support multiple functional groupsโincluding Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance, and R&Dโwhile partnering closely with HR Managers across our facilities.
This position plays a critical role in driving consistent HR policies and practices, supporting key initiatives and projects, and helping translate HR strategy into dayโtoโday execution that promotes a positive and engaging workplace culture.

A Bachelorโs degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
How youโll make an impact:
- Partner with hiring managers to evaluate current and future talent needs and ensure appropriate staffing levels. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, with a strong focus on interviewing and selection to maintain a consistent, highโquality talent pipeline. Support managers in the effective use of selection criteria and onboarding tools.
- Support and administer organizational programs related to employee development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning to enable current business objectives and future growth.
- Own companyโwide HR metrics, reporting, and process improvement initiatives by preparing HR reports and dashboards, identifying opportunities for improvement, and participating in crossโfunctional HR projects.
- Partner with Payroll and Benefits to manage all companyโwide leaves of absence, ensuring accurate administration, compliance, and timely communication with HR team, managers and associates throughout the leave lifecycle.
- Lead companyโwide volunteerism efforts in partnership with the broader HR team.
- Serve as a backup to the Joliet HR Manager as needed.
- Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions, escalating complex or highโrisk issues to the Vice President of Human Resources as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HRIS systems, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- 3-5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a generalist role.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP highly preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution expertise.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
