About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team. This hands-on role focuses on installing and configuring data center hardware while maintaining operational efficiency. The candidate must be experienced in data center best practices, Linux, computer hardware components and networking.
We are currently open to candidates that are within a reasonable commuting distance to Reno, NV, as this is an on-site role.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform hardware installation, configuration, and testing of data center equipment
  • Perform server and network upgrades within a production data center.
  • Run fiber optic and copper cabling to support growing infrastructure.
  • Maintain proper cable documentation and cable management standards
  • Conduct Server configuration & Layer 2 Network configuration.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues
  • Follow data center best practices and security protocols
  • Assist with inventory management and asset tracking
  • Participate in Data Center and expansion builds outs.

What You'll Need:
  • 4+ years experience supporting Production Data Centers.
  • Comfortable using a command line interface
  • Hands-on experience installing fiber optic cabling
  • Basic understanding of power cabling and PDUs ("Power Distribution Units")
  • Familiarity with Linux and other network operating systems.
  • Familiar with server, storage, network technologies.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to express good judgment to take action & move forward.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both local and remote teams.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Reno, NV
  • May require occasional off-hours work for maintenance windows
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Bonus Points:
  • Experience supporting a large scale Production Data Center.
  • Knowledge with routing systems such as Cisco, Linux, Arista.
  • Industry certifications a plus (e.g. CCNA, CompTIA+, Linux, etc.).
  • Familiarity with a scripting language such as Bash, Python, GoLang.
  • Comfortable using a command line interface

Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $70,000 - $95,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
