Job description

We are partnering with a start up in the restaurant industry seeking an HR Manager. This is a broad HR role responsible for payroll, benefits, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HR compliance. The HR Manager will serve as a trusted resource to both leadership and employees while helping build scalable HR processes as the company grows. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, solutions-oriented HR professional who can work with leadership as well as frontline employees.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll, timekeeping, and employee records, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and employee support.
  • Manage recruitment and hiring for hourly, supervisory, and administrative roles.
  • Own the onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations, performance issues, attendance, and workplace concerns.
  • Partner with managers on employee performance, coaching, and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, New York State, and NYC employment laws.
  • Maintain HR policies, employee files, and required documentation.
  • Partner with the Director of Kitchen Operations on staffing, workforce planning, and day-to-day people issues.
  • Track key HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, hiring, and attendance.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives.

Requirements:
  • 4+ yrs progressive HR experience
  • Experience in the hospitality, food service, retail, or other high-volume environment

Preferred Skills:
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

Compensation: $95,000-110,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
