Position Overview

Our client, a growing precision manufacturing organization, is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support the day-to-day human resources needs of its manufacturing workforce.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building relationships across the organization, and providing practical support to both employees and leaders. The HR Generalist will play an important role in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance, benefits administration, and ongoing HR initiatives.

The right candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will bring a collaborative, approachable, and solutions-oriented style to the HR function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers across the organization.
  • Support employee relations matters and provide guidance to leadership on workplace concerns, policies, and performance issues.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts for manufacturing, technical, administrative, and professional positions.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation.
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching, corrective action, documentation, and employee development.
  • Administer and communicate company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Assist with benefits administration, employee questions, open enrollment, and related HR processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
  • Support leave administration, attendance matters, and other employee-related programs.
  • Assist with compensation reviews, job descriptions, and organizational changes as needed.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement, retention, recognition, and culture initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and employee development needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support training initiatives, safety-related HR programs, and manufacturing workforce development efforts.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation as requested.
  • Participate in additional HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or similar operational environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and performance management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Comfortable working directly with both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within precision manufacturing, machining, aerospace, optics, medical device, advanced manufacturing, or another highly technical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting both production and professional/technical employees.
  • Familiarity with payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HR reporting.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification is a plus.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who enjoys being an active part of the organization rather than operating HR from behind a desk. The successful candidate will be approachable, responsive, organized, and comfortable navigating both routine HR responsibilities and more complex employee situations.

This person should be able to balance the needs of employees with the goals of the business while helping create a positive, professional, and accountable workplace.

Why Consider This Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a precision manufacturing organization where HR plays an important role in supporting the people, culture, and continued growth of the business. The HR Generalist will have broad exposure across the organization and the ability to make a meaningful impact on employee experience, leadership support, and overall workforce success.
