Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:


The HR Lead role provides HR partnering, support and expertise to the New Jersey office throughout the employee life cycle. The role will focus on the various HR functions which will include, employee relations, US benefits, on-boarding, transfers and departures for all employees and recruiting, performance management, and compensation for the Business Services Team.  


The HR Lead will provide oversight of the HR function and team for New Jersey. In addition, this role is a member of the larger HR community which is located throughout many different offices across North America.

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

For all New Jersey office employees


Employee Relations


Work closely and partner with OA, HCS, OC, Managers and employees to address a variety of workplace and employee relations issues and topics; provide guidance and pursue solutions that balance individual, firm and functional needs

Interpret, implement and answer inquiries related to HR policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and reinforcing adherence as appropriate

Work with internal legal team, when necessary, on employment issues

Provide advice and counsel on best approaches and practices while generating options for achieving desirable results US Benefits

Provide general support to New Jersey employees regardingbenefits offerings

Work with US Benefits team to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of benefits information to employees

Engage US Benefits team to help address issues or questions

Oversee LOAs, workers compensation, STD, LTD and FMLA leaves in accordance with policies and US regulations

On-Boarding, Transfers and Employee Departures

Ensure smooth transition of new hires, deliver orientation and benefit trainings and coordinate/work with internal resources in on-boarding process

Oversee the preparation of offer letters, temporary contracts, including completing background check process; coordinate secondments in order to manage staffing needs; partner with staffing team and mobility services

Manage and coordinate complex internal transfers, which may include movements between functions, offices, and/or countries

Coordinate US immigration process by working the with the regional US immigration team, global mobility team, legal counsel and expatriates to secure US employment authorization

Oversee all employee files including but not limited to, general employment documents, I-9s, US immigration, benefits, disability as well as EEO tracking and reporting for New Jersey

Manage the full Career Transition Process including all related documentation and conduct thorough exit process

For the Business Services Team (BST)

BST Recruiting

Work closely with hiring managers to identify BST staffing needs, define role descriptions, determine desired candidate skills, and set compensation

Lead the sourcing, interviewing and hiring process

BST Compensation

Work closely with the OC and region to set base compensation for BST hires in line with regional guidelines and benchmarking

Provide guidance to ensure equity within and across functions related to both base and variable compensation

BST Performance Management

Manage the annual performance management process for New Jersey BST employees including goal setting, midyear performance check in and year end review process

Ensure consistent and equitable interpretation and application of all set performance management guidelines

Provide appropriate and effective advice, coaching and guidance to employees and managers as needed

Support managers and employees throughout the process by providing accurate and timely information

Promote a strong leadership and coaching environment; create and oversee Performance Improvement Plans

Assist managers and leaders with identifying development opportunities for employees

Other Responsibilities

New Jersey HR Team

Manage the local HR Associate through oversight of day to day activities

Create and encourage a stimulating work environment through excellent communication; motivate, develop, and provide coaching and development opportunities

Office Management and Leadership

Partner with the OA, Partner team, BST Functional Leadership team and employees in all HR matters, understand business challenges and goals

Drive agenda of NJY Functional Leadership team and mobility meetings; act as core member of NJY Crisis Management team

Actively participate in the broader HR community including participating in regional initiatives and projects

Perform other duties and work on other special projects or initiatives as necessary at the direction of the OA or OC

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience

Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Five + years of human resources management experience in a progressive HR department and professional services organization or equivalent
