Job description

The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Ministries Corporation (SSMO) is looking for a Human Resources Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position provides functional Human Resources support in the areas of benefits administration, regulatory compliance, information collection and data management, and recruitment.

Essential Duties include: Provide exceptional customer service to employees, applicants and all visitors. Support the day-to-day HR administrative functions, including maintaining employees' records and documentations.

Assist with onboarding new hires. Responding to employees' questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate HR team members. Ensure confidential employee information is handled with professionalism and discretion.

Help maintain compliance with company policies and employment regulations. Assist with recruiting, benefits, administration and other HR projects as needed. Assist with HR Recordkeeping, filing, and data entry in the HRIS.

Perform password resets and assist employees with basic account issues. Provide reception coverage by greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquires. Reviews invoices upon receipt, and submits for payment.

Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A positive, welcoming, and customer- first attitude.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures. Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Human Resources, business Administration or related field preferred.

1 year of administrative, HR or office support experience. Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel) and HRIS systems. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone and via email. Occasionally stand, walk, bend, and move thought the office and campus.

Ability to read printed materials and computer screens. Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at on occasion.
