Job Title: HR Employment Compliance SpecialistJob Description

The HR Employment Compliance Specialist supports key employment processes by managing I-9 and E-Verify activities within the HR information system. This role focuses on ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining compliance with employment eligibility requirements, and partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding cases. The specialist works closely with full-time employees’ records to help ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with legal and company standards.

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage I-9 cases within the HR information system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of employee records.
  • Match employee files with government records and document all case information in a clear and organized manner.
  • Review employment eligibility documentation to confirm identification, legal residency, and other required information for employees to be eligible to work.
  • Audit employee files and documentation to verify compliance with I-9 and related employment regulations.
  • Communicate with internal managers via email and phone to obtain missing documents, clarify information, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Navigate multiple computer systems to locate, review, and update employee information and case details.
  • Maintain detailed records of actions taken on each case, ensuring proper documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Analyze information related to employment eligibility and take appropriate, diligent action to resolve issues.
  • Support HR employment processes such as onboarding and employee relations tasks related to documentation and compliance.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and compliance standards in all HR employment and documentation activities.
  • Maintain a consistent work schedule and manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and service expectations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience navigating various computer systems and performing accurate data entry.
  • Ability to analyze information and act diligently to resolve documentation and compliance issues.
  • Ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal managers and documenting case information.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a human resources role is preferred.
  • Experience with I-9 processes or legal knowledge related to employment eligibility is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance, auditing, and onboarding processes.
  • Experience with employee relations activities related to documentation and eligibility is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for communication and documentation.
  • Workday HR system experience is a plus.
Work Environment

The specialist works onsite in an office setting with cubicles, using HR information systems and standard office technology to manage employment documentation and compliance tasks. The dress code is business casual, supporting a professional yet comfortable work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
