Job description

The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations, employee relations, engagement, compliance follow-up, and team member support for hourly and salaried employees. This position partners with HR leadership, operations, ERMs, HR Assistants, Retention, and other HR team members to ensure consistent completion of HR tasks, audits, roundtables, onboarding support, and employee follow-up. The HR Generalist also serves as a backup resource for HR-related functions as needed and helps maintain a positive, compliant, and responsive HR presence across the plant.

Schedule - 2nd shift, 3:pm to 12:30 am- Mon - Fri occasional Saturdays.

Duties/Activities Required by Job

  • Supports employee relations, including policy guidance, investigations, disciplinary follow-up, employee concerns, unemployment matters, and regular roundtables with appropriate follow-up and resolutions.
  • Completes and supports recurring HR audits, reports, trackers, metrics, and compliance follow-up, including I-9, email, attendance, occurrences, transfers, premium positions, medical facilitation, SOP, vacation, call-out, and hours-related reports.
  • Supports HR team coverage and daily operations, including HR Assistant, ERM, Retention, new hire orientation, window coverage, zero-hours, facilitation assistance, and other HR needs as assigned.
  • Maintains floor presence and supports onboarding, retention, employee engagement, meetings, events, Perfect Attendance activities, birthday recognition, and other plant HR initiatives, including event coordination, logistics, setup, decorations, and food, cake, and supply order pickup as needed.
  • Partners with HR leadership and operations on HR communication, weekly operations support, turnover notes, team member follow-up, professional development, and other duties needed to support the HR function.

Educations/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 - 5 years of relatable HR experience 
  • PHR Certification preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred in a combination of Spanish/English or Haitian Creole/English
