The Human Resources Manager provides strategic and operational HR support to the Nestle R&D Center for Baby Food Meals & Drinks in Fremont, MI, helping to align organizational design and HR strategy with business objectives.

This role is responsible for managing the full scope of Human Resources activities, including recruitment, employee development, employee and labor relations, policy interpretation, compensation administration, and legal compliance. The Human Resources Manager partners closely with business leaders to support organizational effectiveness, guide change initiatives, and foster a positive, high-performing work environment while delivering consistent HR support across the employee lifecycle.

Key Outputs / Deliverables:

Execute HR Strategy

  • Driving the alignment and execution of key people strategies that attract, train and retain employees to support the organization's short- and long-term business goals. 
  • Championing the execution of work that is aligned with Nestle Ways of Working and Leading. 
  • Ensuring an effective culture and working environment that is open, empowering, fair, and equitable through detailed analysis of Human Resources scorecard data, survey results, and other workforce management data. 
  • Overseeing/providing flawless execution of all Human Resources initiatives while acting as a catalyst of change where appropriate. 
  • Providing alternate solutions on business issues to achieve the most effective solutions. 
  • Managing overall Human Resources service delivery to the business through the HR department while helping to craft the culture that facilitates and supports Nestle's goals and initiatives. 

Organizational Design

  • Managing the coordination and execution of workforce planning for the organization or site.
  • Proactively challenge the established organizational structure to drive outstanding performance. 

Performance Management

  • Utilizing the performance, potential, and development planning systems to help drive the achievement of company goals.
  • Providing counsel and guidance to Leadership on all people management and development and performing investigations when required. 

Employee Engagement

  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with managers and employees.
  • Drive Leadership Development, supporting all employees to improve skills and effectiveness while aiming to build a positive, productive environment where each associate can fully contribute. 
  • Assessing Employee Relations practices to maintain compliance with Corporate, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations while providing direction to management to help maintain a proactive employment environment. 

Qualifications / Certifications:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Master's Degree level preferred in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Communication, or Industrial Psychology field.
  • PHR or SPHR through HRCI/SHRM certification strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Investigation Skills, HR technical knowledge in EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and an HRIS system (ie. PeopleSoft or SAP).
  • Must have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, balance multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Human Resources/Employee Relations Management role.
  • Prior Human Resources experience must include HR Generalist, operational experience, and change leadership/cultural development focus.
