POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Human Resources is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing HR strategy across a national executive protection workforce. This position partners directly with executive leadership to align people strategy with business objectives, ensuring scalable systems, compliance, and a strong organizational culture. The Director oversees all HR functions, including compliance, talent management, workforce planning, and leadership development.ย This is an in-office position.ย

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee payroll functionsย
- Develop and lead HR strategy to support company growth and operational needsย
- Oversee all HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, and performance managementย
- Ensure full compliance with multi-state employment laws, with heavy emphasis on California regulationsย
- Advise executive leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and risk managementย
- Build and refine HR infrastructure, policies, and scalable processesย
- Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and high-level disciplinary actionsย
- Establish and track key HR metrics to inform business decisionsย
- Oversee compensation, benefits strategy, and vendor relationshipsย
- Drive leadership development and performance management frameworksย
- Manage and mentor HR staff
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this position:
- Bachelorโs degree in human resources, Business, or related field (Masterโs preferred)ย
- 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership roleย
- Deep expertise in multi-state compliance, especially California labor lawย
- Experience supporting distributed or operational workforces (security, law enforcement, military, or similar industries preferred)ย
- Proven ability to build HR systems and scale processes in a growing organizationย
- Strong business acumen and ability to partner with executive leadership
- Strong MS Office 365 Skills
- Working and in use knowledge of HRIS systems especially Paycom
- Experience running payroll and all associated reportsย
