Human factors engineering is the discipline focused on understanding how people interact with systems, products, and environments, with the goal of improving safety, performance, and user satisfaction. It combines principles from psychology, engineering, and design to optimize human well-being and overall system effectiveness. Human factors engineers analyze user needs, physical and cognitive abilities, and limitations to design products and processes that are intuitive, efficient, and reduce the risk of errors or accidents.

How does a human factors engineer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a product development cycle?

Human Factors Engineers work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, engineers, product managers, and user researchers, to ensure products are user-friendly and align with human capabilities and limitations. They often participate in design reviews, conduct user testing, and provide recommendations based on ergonomic principles and user feedback.
