Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a P&O Advisor / Human Resources Advisor.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

The People & Organizationย (P&O) Advisor withinย the Everything Peopleย Support Center (EPSC) is the first P&O point of contact for employees and leaders on questions, support, and guidance across the full P&O spectrum in the Americas region. ย 

  • The advisor role is the main point of contact for P&O / HR for employees and leaders for the employment lifecycle including onboarding (hire) through separation
  • Responsible and accountable for providing a positive customer service experience by responding to inquiries by advising on all P&O processes, policies, and procedures for the employment lifecycle for employees and contingent workers within the Americas. Serves as the escalation point for the team by resolving complex inquiries within a timely manner
  • Responsible for all aspects of Wood's new hire onboarding process to include drafting terms and conditions of offer letters, obtaining proper approvals, enclosures, pre-screening requirements in addition to coordinating and conducting Wood's new hire orientation
  • Responsible for being a subject matter expect on Wood's electronic new hire onboarding process, how the data integrates into core HR systems, including additional specialty compensation items, and review interface output for data accuracy and compliance
  • Responsible for all aspects of Wood's offboarding process to include communication and education of all separation tasks including conducting separation interviews detailing last day details and analyzing exit surveys as well as management of unemployment claims and attending hearings on behalf of Wood
  • Responsible for being a subject matter expert on Wood's offboarding process as well as country/local legislation, including final pay regulations, calculations, deductions, and payments. Ensure accurate administration of termination payments and specialty compensation when applicable
  • Conduct payroll investigations, manage overpayments/underpayments in line with the requirements of applicable processes
  • Management of casework, making recommendations, giving support and advice from relevant policies, legislation and best practice to employees and managers by taking ownership of managing each to conclusion within the case management system. Escalating to next tier of support when needed
  • Liaison with P&O business partners, centers of expertise, payroll, and Oracle IT team, on behalf of employees to discuss and resolve employment, system data, or P&O related issues while demonstrating professional credibility.ย 
  • May attend and/or participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Review and ensure proper delegation of authority (DOA) is received for processing specialty compensation and additional payment requests
  • Keeps management advised of potential problems and recommends and implements solutions as appropriate
  • Proactively evaluate and advise of updates needed to P&O policies, procedures, documents by making recommendations for new approaches and support for process improvement projects by helping to identify recurring issues and problematic trends.ย  Assist with documenting and drafting process flows
  • Responsible for maintaining employee and manager P&O Americas website content and knowledge in appropriate locations
  • Assists in the creation of P&O project related presentations and documents and conducts training
  • Support special projects and P&O initiatives
  • Exercise's discretion and confidentiality with regards to employee personally identifiable information as well as cases

Skills / Qualifications

Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelor's (4 year) Degree in an HR or business-related area is required
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Job specific experience:ย ย ย 

  • Experience in a customer service environment is desired
  • 2-4 years of work experience, 2 years HR experience is preferred
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of HR industry trends, people and pay practices, best practices, and country/ local legislative requirements
  • Knowledge and ability to apply HR policies, procedures, documents
