Job description

LHH is seeking a Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is an opportunity to serve as the organization's primary HR leader while partnering closely with executive leadership. The HR Manager will shape workforce strategy while remaining actively involved in employee relations, compliance, payroll oversight, benefits, and daily HR operations. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $115,000-125,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match. ***Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.*** JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead daily human resources operations while serving as the organization's primary HR advisor.
  • Directly manage the daily tasks of an HR Generalist who will assist with HR tasks.
  • Manage employee relations concerns, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, organizational policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee FMLA administration, workers' compensation claims, accommodations, and leave-related matters.
  • Review payroll records, investigate discrepancies, approve changes, and provide backup processing support.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee recognition programs.
  • Advise executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational risk, and employee-related decisions.
  • Build trusted relationships with hourly employees, supervisors, managers, and senior leadership.
  • Develop, update, communicate, and consistently administer human resources policies and procedures.
  • Support safety initiatives, incident reviews, employee training, and workplace risk-reduction efforts.
  • Oversee HRIS records, onboarding activities, employee metrics, and required personnel documentation.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements and support recruiting, interviewing, selection, and retention initiatives.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate leadership development and employee growth programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Leadership is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of Human Resources experience within a manufacturing facility is required.
  • Must have at least 2 years of human resources management experience.
  • Must have experience independently managing employee relations, investigations, discipline, and regulatory compliance.
  • Must have the ability to review payroll, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate administration.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience supporting hourly employees within multi-shift operations.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience administering FMLA, workers' compensation, benefits, and employment policies.
  • Must be tech-savvy and have experience using HRIS software.
  • Must possess strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
