Job description

Description:

AIM is currently seeking professional contractors with technical, telecommunications, satellite, networking and low-voltage installation experience. This is your chance to be hands-on with technology, work with a variety of customers and be your own boss. Our goal is to provide contractors with steady work year-round and we intend to be here for the long haul.


Basic job duties include installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing satellite internet systems and commercial network infrastructure. Responsibilities include:

  • Installing and servicing HughesNet as well as other satellite internet systems.
  • Installing, testing and troubleshooting commercial network installations, including structured cabling, routers, switches, wireless access points and related networking equipment.
  • Running interior and exterior coaxial, Ethernet and low-voltage cabling.
  • Grounding systems according to code specifications.
  • Coordinating trenching of cables when required.
  • Replacing and repairing defective equipment and components.
  • Verifying proper system performance and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Working closely with residential and commercial customers while providing professional customer service.
  • Identifying opportunities to recommend products and services to customers when appropriate.
Requirements:

Requirements

  • Must have reliable Transportation/Vehicle.
  • Experience with satellite, telecommunications, networking, low-voltage or structured cabling installations preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial networking equipment, including routers, switches, wireless access points and Ethernet cabling, is a plus.
  • Adept at using technology with a basic understanding of computer programs.
  • Able to meet productivity standards and complete work safely and efficiently as well as complying with instructions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail including reporting of actions taken, completion of required administrative tasks and managing consigned inventory.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Comfortable working one-on-one with customers to discuss installation needs and upsell products and services.
  • Basic hand tool experience.
  • Able to meet physical requirements, including climbing and carrying ladders, accessing tight spaces, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., squatting, kneeling, bending, crawling and standing for extended periods.
