Job Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Engineer II - Software sought by Hughes Network Systems LLC. in Germantown, MD.

Participate in requirements gathering and system design. Interface with Business Stakeholders to collaborate on feature design. Support queries from Business about the platform. Perform system and unit design according to technical requirements. Troubleshoot and support applications in test and production environments. Research new application frameworks and suggest improvements to the application portfolio. Respond to the change management requests including new features and bugs. Define and implement improvements for service assurance, performance, security, and robustness.


Skills, Experience and Requirements

Requires: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related technical field plus 7 years of software application development experience in the job offered or similar roles.

Also requires 7 years of experience in each of the following (which may have been gained concurrently):

    • Java, Node.js, Springboot, J2EE, Oracle PL/SQL, BPM
    • DevSecOps and CICD 
    • Virtualization and containerization technologies
    • Test automation with Jmeter and Junit or similar tools
    • Databases both relational and non-SQL
    • API Gateway (APIGEE,NGINX,Kong), Swagger 
    • Public Cloud (GCP) 
    • Google Cloud Pub/Sub,Apache Kafka, JBoss FUSE, JBoss EAP
    • OSS/BSS Domain 
    • Microservices Architecture

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $162,052.50/Year - $162,052.50/Year
