The Opportunity:

At Huckleberry's Natural Market, the bistro isn't just a place to pick up lunch—it's a culinary adventure waiting to happen. As a Bistro Associate, you'll be the curator of delectable delights, crafting customized sandwiches, salads, and more with an artistic touch, serving up scrumptious creations that make every meal memorable. Your attention to detail and passion for quality will ensure that our customers enjoy a deli experience that's second to none. 


 JOB SUMMARY: Prepares, stocks, maintains deli items, and provides customer service and other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be able to communicate pleasantly and efficiently with all customers, vendors and fellow employees, under all circumstances.
  2. Must possess or be able to obtain a food workers permit (health card) if required by the State.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  1. Maintain at all times the cleanliness and/or sanitation of the Deli Department.
  2. Maintain accurate temperatures in the deli cases.
  3. Maintain all tools and equipment.
  4. Must prepare all deli products, as instructed by the Department Manager, Store Manager or Person in Charge (PIC) and Company policy.
  5. Must use creative and effective merchandising techniques in the stocking and displaying deli items.
  6. Must complete assigned duties on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Visually inspect deli case for restocking of items. Worker will slice deli meats and cheeses using a slicer; prepare take out sandwiches, salads, etc.
  2. Assist customers by inquiring what items they would like; obtain and prepare items requested by customer. Place items in container, weigh on a scale, enter a PLU code, print out a label and place on the item. Bag or wrap order.
  3. Make coffee and espresso drinks per customer request.
  4. Use a touch screen cash register to total customer bill, receive payment, and make change.
  5. Maintain soda machine by replacing cartridges as needed.
  6. Clean bins, cases and coolers using a rag and sanitizer; wipe down tables in dining area using a rag and sanitizer; sweep the floor using a broom.
  7. Ensure salad bar area is clean and prepped.
  8. Set up displays for the grab and go case; stock shelves, coolers, counters, bins, tables, freezers, containers, or trays with new merchandise. A six-wheeler cart is used for stocking the cooler. Freight is received and put away up to 3 times per week.
  9. Wash trays, pans, pots, etc. using a dishwasher. Customers place dishes in a tub and worker will carry tub to the dishwasher to be washed.
  10. Meet health, safety, PPE requirements.
  11. Meet other related duties as assigned.
