Job description

John Hubert Farmers Insurance is a full-service agency in Lakewood, Colorado, and we're looking for someone ready to build a career in insurance from the ground up. This is a full-time role designed for someone who wants to learn the business properly with hands-on mentorship, a structured training program, and a clear path toward becoming a licensed insurance professional.

You don't need a background in insurance. You need to be coachable, client-focused, and motivated to grow.

Office Location: 1360 S Wadsworth Blvd, Suite 200, Lakewood, CO 80232


This role blends client service with sales activity. You'll learn how to handle policy questions, support existing clients, and as you develop identify new coverage opportunities. It's a role built for someone who wants to earn more as they learn more.

Licensing

A Colorado P&C license is required for this role. If you're not yet licensed, we'll guide you through the process before your start date.


Compensation:

  • Variable Compensation: Uncapped commission plan, 50% of all new business commissions
  • Fixed Compensation: $50,000 base salary

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients handling questions, policy changes, and coverage reviews by phone, email, and in person
  • Learn and apply Farmers product knowledge to educate clients on their auto, home, and life insurance options
  • Process policy applications, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations accurately
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date client records in compliance with agency and regulatory standards
  • Build relationships with existing clients through consistent follow-up and proactive service
  • Identify opportunities to recommend additional coverage based on client needs not scripted upselling
  • Support clients through the claims process, including documentation and carrier coordination
  • Work toward individual performance goals with regular coaching and feedback from agency leadership

Requirements

Required:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills comfortable on the phone and in person
  • Organized and detail-oriented you follow through and keep accurate records
  • Coachable and self-motivated you take feedback well and hold yourself accountable
  • Comfortable learning CRM tools and basic office software

Preferred:

  • Background in customer service, sales, or a client-facing role
  • Active Colorado P&C license (or willingness to obtain one before start)
  • Some exposure to insurance, financial services, or a regulated industry
