Non-Clinical Nurse Case Manager (RN II)
Position Overview
The Office of the State Surgeon Arizona Army National Guard (AZARNG) requires medical, dental, and behavioral case management and administrative care coordinator support services for an average of 700 conditions requiring a profile per month, average of 350 Line of Duty cases, a continual monthly average of 1,100 in depth cases requiring additional paperwork and board actions with the goal of maintaining a medically deployable force. The case management team will manage all active profiles. Currently there are approximately 969 temporary profiles and 2,175 permanent profiles. The case management team is expected to track duty limiting medical, dental, and behavioral issues by Soldier.
Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00 - unless specified otherwise for Medical Readiness Events (MRE).

Travel: As needed for Medical Readiness Events (MRE) - typically held every other Wednesday and on drill weekends.
Contractor staff are expected to work MRE weekends and shall flex the work week before or after the MRE event to comply with the 80 hour / two-week schedule.
General Duties and Responsibilities
The principle duty of a non-clinical nurse case manager is to assist in reaching their goal of a full, medically/dental-ready Unit Manning Roster (UMR) and upon alert, the Deployment Manning Document (DMD). They function as liaison between the unit of assignment and the Office of the State Surgeon.
Primary duties include:
Apply current medical policy, render intake case management services at PHA and SRP.
Identify service member's individual medical needs.
Ensure that the DD Form 2766 is complete and accurate.
Create Medically Non-Deployable (MND) referrals in E-Case to chart all medical correspondence.
Collect all medical documentation necessary to substantiate the service member's deployment status.
Ensure that any and all medical documentation is placed within the service. member's individual medical record and scanned to their electronic record.
Ensure that MEDPROS accurately reflects the service member's status.
Generate provider review packets for clearing/profiling upon receipt of appropriate medical documentation.
Ensure that the provider review packet is reviewed in a timely manner
Deliver provider's disposition to the unit of assignment and the appointed medical representative.
Forward disposition and medical record to Health Systems Section (HSS) for board processing if applicable.
Ensure all administrative charting in eCase, DENCLASS (Dental Classification Module), MEDPROS (Medical Data Protection System), eProfile, Medical Health Assessment/Periodic Health Assessment (MHA/PHA), Medical Electronic Data Care History and Readiness Tracking (MEDCHART), Automated Voucher System (AVS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology (AHLTA), Medical Operational Data System (MODS), and Medpros Web Data Entry (MWDE) completed in a timely manner.
Secondary duties are providing up-to-date statistics regarding the medical readiness of their unit of assignment at meetings/IPRs
Coordinate with mobilization stations and include mobsite requirements into the unit of assignment's get-well plan.
Incorporate DSS resources and services in order to augment the service member's treatment plan if applicable.
Provide mentorship to appointed medical representatives within assigned case load
Work closely with the unit of assignment's command team and appointed medical representative.
Refers Soldiers to the appropriate agencies to obtain counseling and/or guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, Social Security Administration, Wounded Warrior Program and Veterans Affairs (VA).
Counsels Soldiers on their rights, benefits, privileges or obligations and serves as SME for the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) process. Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control on medically non-deployable (MND) packets submitted to HSS and MTFs.
Required qualifications:
Active, unrestricted registered nurse license from the AZ State Board of Nursing
Able to meet all licensure requirements in AR 40-68, Chapter 4-8
Active (unexpired) BLS certification by the American Heart Association
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Local to Arizona as there is no reimbursement for travel to and from jobsite
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment medical standards.
Proficiency in DoD medical and readiness systems, including MEDPROS, MEDCHART, MODS, eCASE, and MHS GENESIS.
Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases independently while meeting strict regulatory timelines.
Excellent communication skills with Soldiers, leadership, and medical stakeholders.
