Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for HSE oversight and implementation of management systems, including the execution of a training strategy to assure company and regulatory compliance in the US Region, for our Electrification Service organization.

You will work collaboratively with our HSE professionals to drive HSE expectations, accountability, and compliance while promoting a positive HSE culture across the Electrification Service NAM organization, including our field service organization.

The work model for the role is: Remote

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Provide HSE Leadership to the Electrification Service organization, including our US Field Services organization with a focus on the United States West region (California) AND/OR South region (Southeast). Evaluate HSE risks and challenges for new projects and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

  • Develop and review completed site-specific safety plans with project management and customers; Assist in selection and training of job sites-based personnel; Collaborate with Electrification Service Functional Managers and business leaders to discuss and provide counsel on current issues that can be supported or resolved through existing, new, innovative and/or improved Learning & Development practices, processes, and policies.

  • Support the development and harmonization of required tools, programs, procedures, management systems, and ensure proper and sustainable implementation; Ensure that HSE programs/documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and current.

  • Implement and continuously optimize processes and procedures within area of functional responsibility in alignment with ABB guidance, policy, and procedures; Maintain Digital systems and tools utilized to manage the EL Services HSE programs within the region (Benchmark / Intelex, and others)

  • Support the overall EL Services Electrical and LOTO program implementation to include policies, tools, training delivery, training content, and qualifications of trainers; Lead, Conduct, Participate on Service Center and Field Service HSE audits for regulatory compliance and company requirements; Manage digital analytics strategy to track business wide performance to targets and supports HSE metrics reporting requirements, internally and externally.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor degree PLUS minimum 6 years HSE experience with a focus on Field Service (preferred) OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 8 years related experience OR High School diploma/GED PLUS minimum 10 years' experience

  • Formal certification and training in Safety and Environmental fields

  • Knowledge of local HSE regulations and of most widely used international standards

  • Advanced skills in data base management systems, MS Office

  • Willing to travel up to 50% (domestic)

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
