About the Team:

The HSSE team is responsible of maintaining environmental and safety compliance throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing and driving continuous improvement.

What you can look forward to as HSE Specialist:

  • Assist and support the HSSE Supervisor/Manager with the development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures for compliance with HSSE requirements of the company and regulatory agencies (local, state/provincial and national).
  • Support site with achievement of HSSE objectives and targets.
  • Support in the recognition, evaluation and control of work processes with potential hazard/risk exposures relative to safety and the environment.
  • Act as security coordinator - establish and maintain security programs that contain significant and potential security risks.
  • Conduct initial hazard/risk assessments and re-assessments of operations.
  • Conduct various safety and environmental related sampling and analysis procedures as defined in operation protocols, procedures and work instructions.
  • Support with managing HSSE related documentation as directed.
  • Assist with various HSSE related audits and inspections.

Your Profile as HSE Specialist:

  • Associates degree and/or additional certifications (EMT preferred)
  • 2-5 years of related experience in manufacturing safety.
  • Working knowledge of EPA and/or OSHA regulations and all other regulatory governance.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to effectively interface with internal and external personnel
  • Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) knowledge
  • English language competency  
  • Basic knowledge on sustainability tasks and projects (cost savings, energy waste and water reduction)
