Job description

The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company (HSB) was founded on June 30, 1866. Our first president considered HSB as "the first company in America devoted primarily to industrial safety." "Hartford Standards" quickly became the specifications for boiler design, manufacture and maintenance.

HSB is a leader in equipment breakdown insurance, specialty coverages, inspection services, and engineering-based risk management for business, home and farm.

Purpose:

In addition to performing all of the functions of the Inspection Support Rep I, makes outbound phone calls to customers responding to varied requests for information or to research information to be maintained in HSB systems.  Calls internal and external customers to create service orders using the Worksource processes and updates information in the Work Management system, Location Processing System, and/or internet databases.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma is required, college degree preferred
  • 1 - 2 years of experience is required
  • Experience with HSB working in customer service
  • Experience working in a call center environment

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of all major HSB systems and products
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good communication (oral and written) skills
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Good problem solving skills
