The mission of CPLC's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is to promote the health, well-being, and stability of refugees, unaccompanied children, and other eligible individuals and families through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services.

As a PRS Case Worker (Level 2), you will complete home studies and provide post-release services using trauma-informed care, child welfare best practices, and case management services for minors and their sponsors within immigrant and refugee populations.

You will complete detailed assessments and reports while working closely with vulnerable children, sponsors, community service providers, and the HS/PRS team. You will report to the HS/PRS Regional Supervisor and collaborate with the HS/PRS Program Director, Senior Program Manager, fellow Case Workers, and local community partners to support the safety, stability, and well-being of children and families.

You are compassionate, organized, and skilled at working with children and families facing complex circumstances. You can balance strong clinical judgment with a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach. You are comfortable conducting detailed assessments, managing cases, working within homes and communities, and connecting families with appropriate resources.

You also bring strong communication and crisis intervention skills, understand child welfare best practices, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining thorough documentation and confidentiality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• BSW degree or an equivalent degree in behavior sciences or education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science equivalent.
• 1 year experience managing cases.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, in good standing.
• Excellent clinical and crisis interventional skills.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent organizational abilities.
• Excellent judgement.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Teams.
• In-depth understanding of child welfare best practices, trauma informed care systems, and working within homes and communities.
• Must be knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare.
• Knowledge of local community social services.
• Specialized experience conducting home studies and working with immigrant populations, with clinical experience preferred.
• Prior experience with ORR HS/PRS preferred.
