What is an HRSA?

An HRSA job refers to a position within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), a U.S. government agency under the Department of Health and Human Services. HRSA focuses on improving healthcare access for underserved populations, supporting health centers, and funding workforce training programs. Jobs at HRSA span various roles, including public health, grant management, policy development, and administrative support. Employees work to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure equitable medical services across communities.

What are the typical responsibilities of someone working in an HRSA role?

Professionals in HRSA positions often coordinate federal programs that aim to improve healthcare accessibility, manage grants for community health centers, and analyze health data to inform policy decisions. Their work can include writing and reviewing grant applications, monitoring program performance, and collaborating with healthcare providers and policy stakeholders. The environment is generally team-oriented and involves regular communication with partners at local, state, and federal levels. Staff in these roles play a critical part in addressing public health needs and ensuring resources are distributed effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the HRSA position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) role, you typically need expertise in public health, healthcare administration, and program management, supported by a relevant degree in public health or health administration. Familiarity with health data systems, grant management tools, and federal compliance regulations is often required. Strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative approach help candidates excel in this position. These competencies are vital for ensuring effective delivery of health services and successful management of federal health programs.

This is a Full-Time role working at our Prism Health locations in SE and N Portland. The schedule for this role is 8:30am-5:00pm. Hybrid Monday-Friday 3days in office, 2 days work from home.
Starting pay is a range of $75,000-$85,000 depending on experience.
