Job description

About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365-all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world's top investors-including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock-and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.
About the role
We're looking for a Head of Startup & Developer Marketing to own and grow our relationships with two high-priority audiences: the venture-backed (VCB) segment - founders and early-stage teams building the next generation of great companies - and the developer community that increasingly influences how modern businesses are built and run.
This is a builder's role: you'll own the go-to-market strategy for these audiences end-to-end, from defining the strategy and positioning to bringing campaigns and programs to life, and you'll be measured on the awareness and pipeline you drive.
You and your team will work closely with founders, VCs, developers, and ecosystem partners to put Rippling in front of the right audiences at exactly the right moment. If you like operating with autonomy, moving fast, and driving measurable growth, this role is for you.
What you will do
  • Own the go-to-market marketing strategy for the startup and developer segments, tied directly to awareness and revenue targets
  • Develop and scale partnerships with VCs, accelerators, founder communities, and developer ecosystems to drive awareness, engagement, and pipeline
  • Own developer content and awareness programs: technical content strategy, docs improvements, video walkthroughs, and conference presence
  • Use data to measure performance, prioritize spend, and report on funnel and pipeline impact to leadership.
  • Craft messaging and narratives that resonate with founders and early-stage operators.
  • Manage and develop a high performing team.

What you will need
  • 8+ years of B2B marketing experience, with a large portion spend marketing to startup and developer audiences
  • An ability to translate complex, AI-driven or data-centric technology into clear, compelling narratives for technical audiences
  • A track record of owning integrated campaigns and demand generation tied to measurable pipeline.
  • Strong analytical fluency - comfortable with funnel metrics, attribution, and marketing tooling
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering and product teams, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a gift for storytelling to a founder audience.
  • Experience with developer and startup ecosystems (VCs, accelerators, founder and developer communities, etc).
