Director, Commercial Strategy & Analytics

About the Role

We are looking for a Director to lead Commercial Strategy & Analytics, owning the Commercial infrastructure that drives Sales performance across the Commercial organization. This is a highly visible, foundational role. You will build and run the core planning cadence: territory, quota, and capacity. Additionally, you will own the KPI framework and analytics that inform how the business makes decisions, forecasts, and reports results to the board and investors. This role sits within Sales Operations, reporting to the Head of Sales Operations. You will partner closely with Finance/FP&A, HR/Comp, executive leadership, and the PE ownership group.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning & Territory Design
  • Territory, quota, and capacity planning: design, modeling, and execution
  • Ownership of the annual and in‑year Commercial planning cadence (timelines, inputs, governance, sign‑off)
  • Support Rules of Engagement (ROE) design and ongoing dispute resolution
Forecasting & Pipeline
  • Pipeline health and forecast accuracy
  • Building the analytical models that support forecast reviews
Executive & Board Reporting
  • Board- and executive‑level Commercial narrative, translating performance data into a clear strategic story
  • Ownership of Board materials on behalf of Commercial Organization
KPIs, Metrics & Analytics
  • Definition and ownership of the core commercial KPI set
  • Identifying, tracking, and driving insight from KPIs agreed regionally and at the executive level
  • Self‑service dashboards that give GTM leaders direct access to performance data
  • Ad‑hoc business analyses supporting strategic and operational decisions across the org
  • Champion report automation and consolidation, reducing manual reporting overhead
Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Lead cross‑functional review meetings to review, align, and drive decisions
  • Partner with Sales leadership, Finance, HR/Comp, and executive stakeholders to shape planning inputs and priorities
  • Manage change and define ways of working as the function matures from startup to scaled operating model
Compensation & Performance
  • Comp plan design support, partnering with FP&A on payout mechanics and financial validation
  • Quota attainment and pay‑to‑performance analysis to inform plan design decisions
Skills and Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree required
  • 8-10+ years of experience in Sales/Revenue Operations or Business Analytics, with direct ownership of planning and analytics framework
  • Proven experience owning territory, quota, or capacity planning end‑to‑end
  • Strong track record building and presenting board or executive‑level narratives from data
  • Strong analytical and data‑driven mindset for problem‑solving and decision‑making
  • Experience building self‑service reporting/dashboard capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable operating autonomously
  • Master's degree (Preferred)
  • Experience operating in a PE‑backed or newly carved‑out company
  • Experience building a planning/analytics function from the ground up
  • Background spanning both transactional and subscription/SaaS revenue models
