Job Title: Senior PR Manager/Director (National Media)
Location-Type: Remote (U.S. – EST/CST preferred)
Start Date Is: ASAP
Duration: ~6 months (contract, with extension potential)
Compensation Range: $40/hr – $49/hr

Job Description:
Senior PR professional driving national media placements and managing high-visibility, evolving public affairs narratives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Pitch and secure placements in Tier 1 national media outlets (print, digital, broadcast)
  • Build and leverage relationships with national journalists and editors
  • Manage ongoing, evolving narratives (crisis-style communications)
  • Collaborate with internal PR team members on strategy and execution
  • Develop PR strategies to elevate national visibility
  • Create and maintain editorial calendars aligned to campaign goals
  • Execute day-to-day outreach and media engagement efforts

Requirements:

  • Must-Haves:
    • Proven success securing placements in Tier 1 national media
    • Strong existing relationships with national journalists and outlets
    • Experience in hard news, public affairs, or crisis communications
    • Ability to both execute and contribute to PR strategy
    • Demonstrated success managing evolving, time-sensitive storylines
  • Nice-to-Haves:
    • Experience developing editorial calendars and PR frameworks
    • Background in government, public sector, or regulated industries
    • Ability to lead strategy while remaining hands-on
    • Flexibility to support multiple accounts
