Job description

Position Summary...As a Transportation Regional Training Center, Fleet Development Site Lead, you’ll lead site-level execution of Fleet Development strategy for Walmart’s private fleet. You’ll support onboarding, driver readiness, skills development, facilitator readiness, and compliance-based training at the training center.
This role makes the Fleet Development strategy real at the site. You’ll partner with Operations, Fleet Development, Talent Development, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver consistent training experiences, close learning gaps, and help prepare the next generation of Walmart drivers.

At the site level, this team executes training plans, prepares facilitators, supports participants, maintains training records, and improves training delivery. The work directly supports driver readiness, fleet performance, and Walmart’s ability to serve customers and communities every day.

  • Lead site-level execution of Fleet Development training programs, including onboarding, driver readiness, skills development, facilitator readiness, and ongoing training.
  • Partner with Operations, Fleet Development, Talent Development, Human Resources, Legal, and Compliance to align training execution with site and business needs.
  • Deliver training that reinforces safety, compliance, operational standards, and Walmart’s expectations for professional drivers.
  • Manage class schedules, training materials, facilitator readiness, participant support, records, reporting, and confidential associate files.
  • Use feedback, training data, facilitator performance, and process gaps to improve delivery, remove barriers, and escalate compliance or resource risks.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor Fleet Development facilitators through observation, feedback, facilitation audits, teach-backs, and development planning to ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery.
  • Ensure facilitators are prepared to deliver training through certification requirements, train-the-trainer participation, ongoing skill development, and performance coaching

What you’ll bring
  • Experience leading training execution, operations support, workforce development, or associate development in transportation, logistics, distribution, or fleet operations.
  • Working knowledge of transportation safety, driver training, compliance, OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, state, federal, and company requirements.
  • Ability to lead facilitators or training teams through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, accountability, and associate development.
  • Process-driven mindset with the ability to simplify workflows, improve consistency, manage records, and build repeatable training practices.
  • Strong communication and judgment when partnering with Operations, HR, Legal, Compliance, field leadership, and handling confidential information.

Decision rights and scope 
This role owns site-level execution of Fleet Development training programs, including training delivery, facilitator readiness, class scheduling, participant support, site preparation, and escalation of compliance or performance risks. 
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Transportation, Logistics,  Education, Training, Safety, Supply Chain, Process Improvement, or related field and 4 years of experience in training, operations, transportation, logistics, compliance, process improvement, or related area.
  • OR
  • 6 years of experience in training, operations, transportation, logistics, compliance, process improvement, or related area.
  • 4 years of experience leading, supervising, training, or mentoring associates.

Preferred qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business administration, Safety, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Human Resources, Education, Training, Process Improvement, or related field.
  • Experience in fleet operations, driver training, transportation safety, or regulated transportation environments.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, ELDT, Hours of Service, driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing requirements, or CSA.
  • Experience applying process improvement, operational excellence, or continuous improvement practices in training, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or operations environment.

Travel
  • This role may require travel to fleet locations, regional training centers, distribution centers, meetings, or development events based on business needs.

The annual salary range for this position is $104,000.00 - $156,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
