Position Title Fitness Center Coordinator FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week 25 Work Schedule Monday-Friday Position Salary Range $18-25 Summary
The Howard Community College Fitness Associate is essential to the day-to-day operations of the Student/Faculty and Staff Fitness Center. The fitness associate will be welcoming, courteous and neat while providing customer service to Howard Community College students, faculty and staff. The fitness associate will answer phone calls, maintain cleanliness of equipment, report incidents, and clean lockers as need be. The fitness associate will also assist in demonstrating the use of equipment as well as upholding the safety and organizational standards of Howard Community College.
Essential Role Responsibilities
1.      Follow opening and/or closing procedures of the fitness center
      a.      Unlock and/or Close fitness center access
      b.      Unlocking and or Locking Fitness Center Bathrooms and lockers
      c.      Evaluating the cleanliness of fitness floor, front desk
2.      Responsible for checking in and updating the status of registered HCC Student Faculty and Staff
3.      Work in partnership with the athletic staff to maintain cleanliness and operation of Fitness Center tools and equipment. 
4.      Maintain a cleaning log as well as an equipment maintenance log.
5.      Report incidents as need be.
      a.      Training accidents
      b.      Member sickness
      c.      conduct
6.      Conduct periodic walkthroughs to monitor the
7.      Responsible for laundering towels while maintaining a clean and full rack of towels
8.      Perform various other duties and tasks as need be.
Minimum Education Required High School or equivalent Experience Required Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
1.      Must be 18 years of age or older
2.      Fitness center experience is preferred but not required
3.      Current CPR/AED Certification.
4.      Strong working knowledge of lifting technique and lifting skill development 
5.      Strong motivator
6.      Strong organization skills
7.      Must pass a background screening.
