Job description

Make a meaningful impact in your community as a Housing Support Specialist with Vera French Housing. In this full-time role, you will help individuals access and maintain safe, affordable housing while supporting leasing, eligibility, compliance, tenant communication, and day-to-day housing operations.What You'll DoAssist with applicant screening, income verification, leasing, renewals, and tenant follow-up.Calculate rents and utility allowances for income-based units and complete accurate documentation.Maintain tenant records, lease files, reports, property keys, and compliance paperwork.Support HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, HOME funds, and other housing compliance requirements.Provide respectful customer service and tenant education in a trauma-informed environment.Assist with inspections, annual rent increases, compliance reviews, and travel to multiple locations as needed.What You'll NeedAssociate degree preferred in business, bookkeeping, compliance, property management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.LIHTC certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months and maintain it throughout employment.Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, follow-through, and attention to detail.Experience with affordable housing programs, property management software preferred.Experience working with individuals with mental health needs or in a role requiring demonstrated empathy is desirable.Why Join Vera French?At Vera French, you'll be part of a mission-driven team working to enhance the mental health of all in our community by providing quality, accessible, and comprehensive care.
