What is a housing provided ranch?

Housing provided ranch jobs are positions on ranches where employees are offered free or subsidized accommodation as part of their employment package. These jobs can include roles such as ranch hands, wranglers, cooks, or maintenance workers. The provided housing is often onsite and can range from shared bunkhouses to private cabins, depending on the ranch. This arrangement is common in remote or rural areas, making it easier for workers to live and work on the property. Many people are attracted to these jobs for the adventure, the chance to work outdoors, and the benefit of reduced living expenses.

What skills and qualifications are needed to work on a housing provided ranch?

To thrive as a Ranch Worker with housing provided, you generally need experience with livestock management, basic maintenance skills, and a strong work ethic, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with farm machinery, irrigation systems, and sometimes certifications in animal handling or pesticide application are typically required. Dependability, adaptability, and effective communication are important soft skills for managing daily tasks and working with ranch owners or team members. These skills are crucial for maintaining the ranch’s productivity, ensuring animal welfare, and supporting a smooth-running operation.

What are the unique challenges of working on a housing provided ranch, and how can new employees prepare for them?

Working on a housing provided ranch often means living and working in close proximity to coworkers, which can be both rewarding and challenging. The work itself can be physically demanding, with long hours outdoors and a variety of tasks such as animal care, maintenance, and land management. New employees should be prepared for a rural lifestyle, adapt to a flexible schedule, and communicate openly with team members to foster a positive communal environment. Bringing a willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and respect for shared living spaces will help new hires adjust and thrive.

Job description

Spa TherapistAbout The Sorrel River Ranch Experience

Sorrel River Ranch is a Four-Diamond luxury guest ranch tucked along the Colorado River, surrounded by towering red-rock cliffs, mesas, and 240 acres of incredible landscape.

Life at Sorrel is a little different. Guests come here to slow down, explore, reconnect, and experience something unforgettable. Our Spa is a big part of that experience—and we’re looking for a Spa Therapist who loves helping people relax, recharge, and leave feeling better than when they arrived.

If you’re passionate about massage, genuinely enjoy connecting with people, and like the idea of working somewhere surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, you might be a great fit for Sorrel.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide exceptional massage and wellness treatments tailored to each guest.
  • Create a warm, relaxing, and personalized experience from beginning to end.
  • Keep the Spa clean, peaceful, organized, and ready for guests.
  • Stay knowledgeable about treatments, services, and products.
  • Work closely with the Front Office and Experience teams to create seamless guest experiences.
  • Follow all treatment, health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Complete daily Spa checks and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Help with stocking, ordering, linens, towels, and inventory.
  • Jump in and help the team wherever needed.
  • Bring positive energy, professionalism, and genuine hospitality to every guest interaction.
What We’re Looking For
  • Current Massage Therapist license required in Utah.
  • Two or more years of massage therapy experience preferred.
  • Additional wellness, bodywork, or resort Spa experience is a plus.
  • Someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys making people feel cared for.
  • Friendly, professional, dependable, and comfortable connecting with all kinds of guests.
  • Strong communication and guest-service skills.
  • Flexible and willing to be part of a team in a unique, fast-paced resort environment.
A Few Things You Should Know
  • Ability to perform approximately 4–6 massages per day.
  • Will be a 1099 employee
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and move comfortably throughout the day.
  • Attention to detail is important—we notice the little things.
Come Be Part of the Sorrel Experience

This isn’t your typical Spa environment. You’ll be working alongside the Colorado River, surrounded by red rocks, ranch life, outdoor adventures, and a team that believes the experience matters just as much as the service.

If you love what you do, love making people feel good, and want to work somewhere truly special, come join us at Sorrel River Ranch.

Limited rental housing may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Compensation is based on experience. Only applicants selected for interviews will be contacted. Applicants must already have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
