Supervisor: Housekeeping Supervisor / Resort General Manager


The Houseman at Purity Spring Resort is a hospitality worker responsible for maintaining and repairing the facility, assisting in housekeeping duties, and supporting guest requests for housekeeping services. This position requires a hands-on individual who can maintain cleanliness, assist in event setups, and perform various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all.
  • Perform monthly fire/life safety checks to ensure that safety systems are operational and in compliance with regulations.
  • Respond to radio calls promptly, addressing various housekeeping and facility needs throughout the shift.
  • Strip soiled linen from beds when asked to assist housekeepers.
  • Assist housekeepers with heavy lifting and special cleaning projects as directed.
  • Ensure the security of guest belongings while in guest rooms, handling items with care.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and staff to resolve issues and provide excellent customer service.
  • Conduct daily property inspections, checking all buildings to ensure lights are turned off, thermostats and A/Cs are adjusted, and doors are properly locked at the end of the shift.
  • Perform weekly checks of LP and oil levels at all tanks to ensure that energy systems are functioning properly and efficiently.:
  • Assist with the successful setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events, following event orders and ensuring proper reset of rooms post-event.
  • Take inventory of banquet supplies (chairs, tables, audio-visual equipment) and ensure they are properly stored and maintained.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of banquet and common areas, ensuring these are thoroughly cleaned after each event.
  • Walk all assigned units (guest rooms, pool areas, kitchens, etc.) at the beginning, throughout, and at the end of the shift to collect trash, soiled linen, and other items as assigned by management.
  • Assist with snow removal
  • Perform morning pool maintenance duties, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health standards. Check chemical levels and chlorine levels as required (CPO certification preferred).
  • Assist with additional tasks or duties as requested by management or supervisory staff, providing flexible support to various departments.


Qualifications Include:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or currently working towards one.
  • Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping, or maintenance role is preferred but not required
  • Basic technology skills (e.g., using radios, basic reporting systems)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with guests and staff
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally climb ladders.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must be dependable and adhere to scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in guest interactions.
  • Problem-solving skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
