POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Supervisor Reports To: Rooms Division Manager
Department: Housekeeping Date: May 2026
Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall supervision and direction of all aspects of the Housekeeping department, including the cleanliness of guest rooms and keeping the standards high.
Supervision Received:
Supervision is received from the Rooms Division Manager.
Essential Functions:
  • Prepares daily guestroom assignment for room attendants
  • Assists housekeeping and laundry staff in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their jobs. Order supplies as necessary
  • Maintains purchase order book and checkbook and completes a monthly purchase report
  • Performs beginning and end of month inventory of all guest supplies and linen.
  • Prepares daily guestroom reports and trace reports. Departure list goes to front desk
  • Prepares daily and weekly inspections of guestrooms to ensure standards are being met
  • Performs daily walk-through of public areas to ensure standards are being met.
  • Performs hiring, training, supervision, evaluations and termination of personnel
  • Maintains a high standard of excellence throughout the hotel
  • Maintains safety awareness throughout housekeeping department
  • Reports all potential safety hazards immediately
  • Maintains appearance of exterior and interior of building
  • Prepares and conducts timely and accurate performance reviews with staff
  • Assigns staff their duties, and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness
  • Maintains proper inventory levels at all times
  • Ensures that supplies and equipment are issued to staff
  • Performs investigation of complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action
  • Assists in the scheduling of housekeeping staff
  • Performs Laundry and Room Attendant duties as needed
  • Maintains and organizes lost and found. Ensures that all guests' lost and found items are wrapped and mailed
  • Ensures effective communication between front desk and housekeeping for guest satisfaction
  • Performs inspection of linen rooms and room attendant carts
  • Prepares work orders for any problems in guest rooms, halls, or linen room. Maintains a current work order log book
  • Performs opening and closing duties in the housekeeping department
  • Represents the hotel in a positive and friendly manner at all times
  • Ensures that all guests are greeted
  • Complies with all policies and procedures set forth by the Employee Handbook.

Secondary Functions:
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read and follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of chemicals and operation of industrial machines
