Job description

Overview

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides for specialized cleaning of hospital areas assigned on a daily basis.  This cleaning includes dusting, mopping, linen collection, waste removal and disposal, bathroom cleaning and cleaning of common areas, offices, patient rooms or specialized areas as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school diploma or GED preferred.

 

Experience:  Industrial or Healthcare experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:  Ability to learn all phases of housekeeping duties and to maintain a favorable productivity level after the training period. Ability to learn and understand the importance of EVS role in maintaining cleanliness to prevent infections and hospital aquired illnesses of patients, families, employees, physicians, and others.  Ability to speak, understand, and read sufficient English to perform the requirements of the position.  Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Equipment:  Ability to use basic cleaning equipment such as vaccuum cleaners, mops and other cleaning supplies.

Physical Requirements:  Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position as noted on the job description.

PAY RANGE

$21.00 - $29.12

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate's relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate's individual experience.
