About Our Family

We are a warm, busy family of five with an active household and a full schedule. Our days move at a fast pace, with early mornings, full days, and evenings that vary from week to week.

Our home is already well-organized with established systems and routines in place. This role is not about creating structure from scratch, but rather about maintaining, refining, and elevating the systems we have already built. We have a housekeeping team that comes twice a week and manages all deep cleaning in addition to a landscaping team that maintains the exterior of the property. What we are looking for is someone to take ownership of the day-to-day details in between - managing laundry, groceries, errands, household resets, and the many small tasks that keep everything running seamlessly when our attention is pulled in multiple directions.

We value trust, reliability, and initiative. We appreciate someone who is confident working independently and does not require constant oversight. We are looking for a professional who takes genuine ownership of the home, anticipates what needs to be done, and is comfortable using good judgment to find solutions and keep things moving smoothly.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is proactive, self-directed, and reliable, comfortable working independently and taking ownership without needing a detailed checklist each day. You naturally recognize what needs to be done, prioritize effectively, and follow through with minimal direction. Clear, proactive communication is important to you, and you take pride in staying aligned with the family and ensuring the household runs smoothly.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day details that keep a busy household running smoothly, with laundry and linens serving as a key focus of the role. This person will help maintain household inventory, keep routines on track, anticipate and manage evolving priorities, and ensure the family is fully prepared for the weekend - including making sure the vehicle is fueled and weekly groceries are purchased, stocked, and put away by Friday. The right candidate will bring strong judgment, reliability, resourcefulness, and genuine pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry & Linens

  • Take full ownership of the household's laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing clothing and linens
  • Coordinate dry-cleaning drop-off and pick-up and ensure items are returned and properly put away
  • Provide light steaming as needed to keep clothing and household items neat and ready for use
  • Assist the housekeeping team with changing sheets and towels and maintaining an organized, well-stocked linen supply

Inventory & Errands

  • Manage weekly grocery shopping, primarily through Whole Foods, with additional Costco, Amazon, and Target orders as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pantry and household supply inventories and restock as needed
  • Coordinate Amazon deliveries, Instacart orders, and recurring household subscriptions
  • Handle household returns, FedEx shipments, and dry-cleaning drop-off and pick-up
  • Purchase and coordinate gifts and specialty items for family, school, holidays, and special occasions
  • Receive, organize, and put away household packages and mail; break down and dispose of shipping materials
  • Ensure the family vehicle is fueled and arrange for a car wash upon completion of errands

Household Management and Organization

  • Complete daily household resets, including unloading the dishwasher, restocking supplies, and maintaining tidy surfaces and common areas
  • Maintain established organizational systems and identify opportunities to improve efficiency as household needs evolve
  • Prepare the home for housekeeping visits
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including the patio, terraces, basketball court, and front entry; assist with light seasonal upkeep such as leaf blowing and wiping down outdoor furniture
  • Assist with seasonal clothing rotations, closet organization, and holiday decor storage
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs as needed
  • Research, vet, and coordinate household vendors for repairs and maintenance, utilizing existing family contacts and sourcing new providers as needed

Family Support

  • Prepare backpacks, sports uniforms, water bottles, electronics, and other gear for the children ahead of school, activities, and events
  • Assist with event and entertaining preparation, including ordering flowers or centerpieces, stocking the wine cooler, and ensuring all necessary supplies are in place for dinners and gatherings

Meal Support

  • Manage weekly grocery shopping and ensure the household is consistently stocked with fresh food and essential ingredients
  • Provide light meal preparation support based on the family's instructions, such as taking proteins out to thaw or marinate and completing simple prep tasks
  • Keep the kitchen and food storage areas organized and ensure ingredients are properly stored and ready for use

Vehicle Management

  • Ensure the family vehicle is fueled and arrange for a wash each Friday so it is clean and ready for the weekend

Special Projects

  • Make occasional trips to the family's Michigan property (approximately 1-2 times per year) to assess household needs, restock groceries, and ensure the home is organized and well-maintained

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Set up and maintain a shared family calendar to track household schedules, vendor visits, and recurring tasks
