Job description

Clerical Assistant

The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township (MSDWT) has an opportunity for a Clerical Assistant at Clearwater Elementary School. This position is full time with an hourly rate of $19.50/hr. Additional compensation is available for post-secondary education, bilingual status, and approved industry certifications. Benefits include paid leave days, paid holidays, retirement contributions, life insurance, and health, dental, and vision offerings.

The Clerical Assistant reports directly to the Principal and supports the Building Administrative Assistant in various tasks including answering the telephone, attendance, word processing, data entry, mailing, filing, copying, preparing materials, and assisting with parent, visitor, staff, and student inquiries. The role also involves assisting with student enrollments, reports, immunizations, withdrawal information, maintaining student files and class lists, organizing school events, and supporting the Health Center as needed. Candidates must possess above-average computer skills, be well organized, flexible, and proficient in the use of all office equipment. Prior work experience in a school-related environment and knowledge of basic record-keeping skills is preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, carry and lift up to 25 pounds, operate office equipment, and perform various other tasks as assigned.
