Job description

Job Title: Requirements Tools Engineer (Engineer IV)

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract (W2)

Duration: 12-month contract

Job Summary:

The Requirements Tools Engineer is responsible for enabling and supporting requirements management infrastructure for medical device product development programs. This role focuses on administering, configuring, and optimizing enterprise requirements management tools, as well as migrating legacy data while ensuring data integrity, traceability, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute migration of requirements and related data from legacy tools (DOORS, Jama, Excel, Jira) into new platforms
  • Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise requirements management tools including hierarchies, workflows, templates, versioning, and baselining
  • Develop and maintain requirements management plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Create and standardize requirements templates, traceability frameworks, and governance models
  • Maintain requirements databases and develop scripts or automation to improve efficiency
  • Support integrations and add-on tools to enhance usability and system performance
  • Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to engineering teams as the subject matter expert
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define scalable requirements structures and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with design control processes and quality system requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering/configuring enterprise requirements management tools (Codebeamer, DOORS, Jama, or similar)
  • Experience with requirements/data migration from legacy systems
  • Strong understanding of medical device product development and design controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a tool administrator or configuration owner in regulated environments
  • Experience scaling requirements frameworks across large or multi-team programs
  • Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting software-driven or connected medical devices
  • Strong understanding of requirements structuring and traceability

Salary:

The hourly rate for this position is competitive and based on experience.
