Job description

Lifeguard Position

Lifeguards are trained operators who are responsible for ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of their assigned location, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of their area/location in both guest view and back areas while providing excellent Guest Service. Lifeguards are responsible for the successful communication of safety rules with Guests and Team Members in both positive and stressful situations. Professionalism and a positive attitude must be displayed at all times. Scanning and maintaining a 10-20, Rescue Readiness, First Aid, and crowd control are all basic daily functions. Working outdoors in all weather conditions while performing physically demanding tasks is essential.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain safety of guests by meeting all standards and expectations for lifeguarding in accordance with company and E&A policies and procedures
  • Knows, follows, and enforces all check 5 standards
  • Completes all applicable department paperwork accurately and thoroughly
  • Enforces adheres to and follows all park, ride, and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Gloves, Hip Pack, Seal Easy, Safety Glasses, at least 30 SPF Sunscreen
  • Must be able and willing to ride attractions daily
  • Must be willing to work outside his or her zone of assignment to fulfill general park needs on occasion
  • Ensure compliance with all Herschend Family Entertainment and Wild Adventures policies and procedures
  • Represents the company to guests and other team members in a positive and friendly manner
  • Satisfies Wild Adventure's standards for performance and conduct. For example, reports to work regularly and on time

Work Environment: The position requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and in the presence of dust and odors. Team Members are susceptible to the exposure of various chemicals, bodily fluids, and blood-borne pathogens, prolonged exposure to sunlight or rainy conditions.

Education: Currently enrolled in High School, High School Graduate, or GED preferred

Certifications & Licenses: The position requires completion of rides certification. Must be able to receive and maintain Ellis and Associates Lifeguarding License

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Must have the ability to swim and lift own body/body weight out of the pool
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation
