This role serves as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues, assisting with hardware, software, Microsoft 365 applications, user account management, device deployment, troubleshooting, and technology support. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, technically curious, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills while delivering timely and professional support to end users.

Cobalt Truck Equipment is seeking an energetic and solutions-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for employees across the organization, providing hands-on technical support, managing end-user devices, and helping users maximize productivity through Microsoft 365 and other business-critical applications. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who enjoys working directly with people, troubleshooting technical challenges, and continuously learning new technologies. 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support: 

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to end users via ticketing systems, email, phone, Microsoft Teams, and in-person assistance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, mobile device, and peripheral problems.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or third-party vendors when necessary.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and user interactions.

End User Device Management:

  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Assist with workstation moves, equipment upgrades, replacements, and repairs.
  • Perform software installations, updates, and system configurations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for IT hardware, software, and assigned assets.

Microsoft 365 User Support:

  • Support users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Assist with account provisioning, password resets, licensing assignments, and basic user administration.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams collaboration and Teams Phone issues.
  • Support users with multi-factor authentication (MFA), mobile device enrollment, and access-related requests.

User Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Prepare equipment, software, and accounts for new employees.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities with Human Resources and department managers.
  • Assist new employees with technology orientation and setup.
  • Support employee offboarding procedures, including account deactivation, access removal, and equipment collection.

Enterprise Application Support:

  • Provide first-level support for business applications, including Salesforce, TREQSO, SharePoint, and Power Platform solutions.
  • Assist users with access requests, application issues, and general usage questions.
  • Escalate application-related issues to designated administrators, vendors, or support partners.

Documentation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with IT projects, system deployments, upgrades, and technology initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain technical knowledge and support capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or technical support role.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, computer hardware, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Phone.
  • Experience with endpoint management and device deployment solutions such as Microsoft Intune.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, SharePoint, Power Platform, or similar business applications.
  • Experience working with ticketing and service management platforms.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900).
  • Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700).
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, mobile devices, printers, and phones.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move computer equipment and related technology assets weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. Work hours may vary based on business needs and occasional project requirements.

Travel

Occasional travel between company locations may be required to support users, equipment deployments, training, and operational needs.
