Position Overview
St. Michael School, part of the St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes, is seeking a full-time, faith-filled, collaborative, and student-centered Principal to support the mission of our Catholic school community.

Position Summary
The Principal serves as the religious, academic, community, and operational leader of the Catholic elementary school. The Principal guides the school’s strategic direction, communicates effectively with stakeholders, and hires and evaluates school staff.
The Principal acts as the chief spokesperson for the school and ensures that the school authentically reflects:
  • The teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Initiatives of the Archdiocese
  • The needs of the community it serves
Credentials & Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Education
  • Prior experience leading initiatives in an educational setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated public relations and relationship-building ability
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a complex organization
  • Proficiency with communication technologies
  • Must be a practicing Catholic with a personal faith commitment
Reporting Structure
Reports To:
The Pastor/Vicar, with defined oversight from the Catholic Schools Office

Supervises:
School faculty and support staff (as defined by the school’s organizational chart)

Key Responsibilities
The Principal will:
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the religious, academic, community, and operational programs of the school
  • Uphold and strengthen the Catholic identity of the school
  • Maintain strong religious instruction and worship opportunities
  • Ensure the highest quality of teaching and learning
  • Conduct classroom observations and staff evaluations
  • Oversee the school technology plan
  • Manage the OCSAA accreditation process
  • Support professional development for staff
  • Maintain a culture of respect and positive conduct
  • Oversee extracurricular and co-curricular programs
  • Promote Catholic high school enrollment for graduates
  • Communicate the school’s mission, needs, and accomplishments to the community
  • Maintain and monitor the school’s strategic plan
  • Oversee school policies and procedures
  • Work with the Business Manager on budgeting, fundraising, and development
  • Ensure the safety and proper functioning of school facilities
  • Support student recruitment and enrollment
  • Maintain positive relationships with parishioners, alumni, donors, and supporters
  • Meet regularly with the Pastor and School Educational Commission
  • Attend Archdiocesan Principals’ Meetings and School Cluster Meetings
Terms of Employment
  • Salary
  • Schedule: 7 hours per day / 35 hours per week
  • Employment Term: 260 days / 12 months

Faith Commitment
Employees of St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes / St. Michael School must have knowledge of the Catholic faith and a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based organization.
Employees must not publicly oppose the teachings of the Catholic Church or advocate positions in conflict with the teachings of the Church, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, or the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This includes public speech, demonstrations, writing, social media, or other digital communications.
