OVERVIEW

Are you an experienced Press Brake Operator ready to take the next step in your career? 

Cadrex is looking for Press Brake Set-Up professionals at the Level I and Level II levels to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and adjusting press brake machines, tooling, and processes to produce quality parts that meet customer specifications. 

Our Set-Up team plays a critical role in keeping production running efficiently. You will work closely with Press Brake Operators, Quality, and leadership to ensure jobs are set up correctly, quality standards are met, and production stays on schedule. 

Candidates will be aligned to Press Brake Set-Up I or II based on their experience, technical skills, and demonstrated abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and adjust press brake machines, tooling, and equipment for production 
• Install, change, align, and adjust tooling based on job requirements 
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and production documentation 
• Set up jobs to meet required angles, dimensions, tolerances, and production specifications 
• Operate press brake equipment as needed to verify setups and produce parts 
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, protractors, and other inspection equipment 
• Complete first-piece and periodic inspections to verify product quality 
• Make minor machine and process adjustments as needed 
• Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, and process issues 
• Clear machine alarms and identify conditions requiring maintenance support 
• Ensure materials, tooling, and packaging are available and ready for production 
• Monitor production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and required output 
• Maintain accurate and timely production and quality documentation 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area 
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of machine guards, laser guards, and other required safety equipment 
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, productivity, and scrap reduction 
• Assist and provide guidance to Press Brake Operators with machine operation, measuring, blueprint reading, and minor adjustments 
• Help ensure smooth transitions between scheduled jobs 
• Perform Press Brake Operator duties when needed 

Press Brake Set-Up I 

As a Set-Up I, you will develop and demonstrate the ability to independently prepare press brake machines and processes for production. 

• Set up assigned press brake machines according to established specifications 
• Install and adjust tooling to prepare machines for production 
• Verify setups using precision measurement tools 
• Make necessary adjustments to achieve required dimensions and angles 
• Perform first-piece inspections and obtain required approval before production begins 
• Make minor machine adjustments and clear alarms 
• Identify and report machine, tooling, material, or process issues 
• Ensure jobs are operator-ready with minimal adjustments required 
• Assist operators with proper inspection techniques and machine operation 
• Provide work instructions and answer questions when a lead or supervisor is unavailable 
• Assist with training new employees 
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality standards 

Press Brake Set-Up II 

As a Set-Up II, you will be a highly skilled resource responsible for consistently setting up complex jobs and helping ensure operators can run production with minimal adjustment. 

• Independently set up assigned press brake machines and processes to company specifications 
• Complete setups accurately and consistently with minimal scrap 
• Select and install appropriate tooling based on job requirements 
• Make advanced machine and tooling adjustments to achieve required specifications 
• Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation for complex parts 
• Perform detailed first-piece and in-process inspections 
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and process issues and determine appropriate solutions 
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and process consistency 
• Ensure jobs are fully operator-ready before releasing them to production 
• Assist operators with difficult setups, measurements, blueprint interpretation, and machine adjustments 
• Train and mentor operators on proper machine operation, quality standards, and inspection techniques 
• Help coordinate production flow and prepare for upcoming scheduled jobs 
• Serve as a technical resource for the department and may provide direction in the absence of a lead or supervisor 
• Support maintenance and leadership by identifying recurring equipment and process issues 
• May perform Press Brake Operator I or II duties as needed 

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Press Brake Set-Up I 

• Previous press brake, machine operating, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred 
• Experience with machine setup and tooling preferred 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions 
• Ability to use precision measuring tools 
• Basic computer skills 
• Ability to make minor machine adjustments and clear alarms 
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic 
• Ability to take initiative and identify tasks that need to be completed without constant direction 

Press Brake Set-Up II 

• Previous press brake setup experience required 
• Demonstrated ability to consistently set up press brake machines and processes to specifications 
• Strong understanding of press brake tooling, machine operation, and the forming process 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documentation 
• Proficiency using precision measurement tools 
• Ability to troubleshoot setup, tooling, machine, and process issues 
• Ability to make adjustments to achieve required dimensions and quality standards 
• Ability to consistently produce operator-ready setups with minimal adjustment and scrap 
• Ability to use computers and production systems as required 
• Strong attention to detail and quality 
• Ability to train and assist operators 
• Ability to work independently and take initiative 
• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment 

Experience requirements are guidelines. Candidates will be considered based on their overall manufacturing experience, technical skills, and demonstrated abilities. 

EDUCATION

• High School diploma. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate machinery and handle materials 
• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or balance 
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds

• Fri-Sun; 5:45am - 6:15pm
• Work 36 hours and get paid for 40!
