Cadrex is looking for Press Brake Set-Up professionals at the Level I and Level II levels to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and adjusting press brake machines, tooling, and processes to produce quality parts that meet customer specifications.ย 


Our Set-Up team plays a critical role in keeping production running efficiently. You will work closely with Press Brake Operators, Quality, and leadership to ensure jobs are set up correctly, quality standards are met, and production stays on schedule.ย 


Candidates will be aligned to Press Brake Set-Up I or II based on their experience, technical skills, and demonstrated abilities.ย

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and adjust press brake machines, tooling, and equipment for productionย 
  • Install, change, align, and adjust tooling based on job requirementsย 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and production documentationย 
  • Set up jobs to meet required angles, dimensions, tolerances, and production specificationsย 
  • Operate press brake equipment as needed to verify setups and produce partsย 
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, protractors, and other inspection equipmentย 
  • Complete first-piece and periodic inspections to verify product qualityย 
  • Make minor machine and process adjustments as neededย 
  • Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, and process issuesย 
  • Clear machine alarms and identify conditions requiring maintenance supportย 
  • Ensure materials, tooling, and packaging are available and ready for productionย 
  • Monitor production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and required outputย 
  • Maintain accurate and timely production and quality documentationย 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaย 
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of machine guards, laser guards, and other required safety equipmentย 
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, productivity, and scrap reductionย 
  • Assist and provide guidance to Press Brake Operators with machine operation, measuring, blueprint reading, and minor adjustmentsย 
  • Help ensure smooth transitions between scheduled jobsย 
  • Perform Press Brake Operator duties when neededย 

Press Brake Set-Up Iย 

As a Set-Up I, you will develop and demonstrate the ability to independently prepare press brake machines and processes for production.ย 

  • Set up assigned press brake machines according to established specificationsย 
  • Install and adjust tooling to prepare machines for productionย 
  • Verify setups using precision measurement toolsย 
  • Make necessary adjustments to achieve required dimensions and anglesย 
  • Perform first-piece inspections and obtain required approval before production beginsย 
  • Make minor machine adjustments and clear alarmsย 
  • Identify and report machine, tooling, material, or process issuesย 
  • Ensure jobs are operator-ready with minimal adjustments requiredย 
  • Assist operators with proper inspection techniques and machine operationย 
  • Provide work instructions and answer questions when a lead or supervisor is unavailableย 
  • Assist with training new employeesย 
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality standardsย 

Press Brake Set-Up IIย 

As a Set-Up II, you will be a highly skilled resource responsible for consistently setting up complex jobs and helping ensure operators can run production with minimal adjustment.ย 

  • Independently set up assigned press brake machines and processes to company specificationsย 
  • Complete setups accurately and consistently with minimal scrapย 
  • Select and install appropriate tooling based on job requirementsย 
  • Make advanced machine and tooling adjustments to achieve required specificationsย 
  • Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation for complex partsย 
  • Perform detailed first-piece and in-process inspectionsย 
  • Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and process issues and determine appropriate solutionsย 
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and process consistencyย 
  • Ensure jobs are fully operator-ready before releasing them to productionย 
  • Assist operators with difficult setups, measurements, blueprint interpretation, and machine adjustmentsย 
  • Train and mentor operators on proper machine operation, quality standards, and inspection techniquesย 
  • Help coordinate production flow and prepare for upcoming scheduled jobsย 
  • Serve as a technical resource for the department and may provide direction in the absence of a lead or supervisorย 
  • Support maintenance and leadership by identifying recurring equipment and process issuesย 
  • May perform Press Brake Operator I or II duties as neededย 

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Press Brake Set-Up Iย 

  • Previous press brake, machine operating, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferredย 
  • Experience with machine setup and tooling preferredย 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructionsย 
  • Ability to use precision measuring toolsย 
  • Basic computer skillsย 
  • Ability to make minor machine adjustments and clear alarmsย 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityย

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documentationย 
  • Proficiency using precision measurement toolsย 
  • Ability to troubleshoot setup, tooling, machine, and process issuesย 
  • Ability to make adjustments to achieve required dimensions and quality standardsย 
  • Ability to consistently produce operator-ready setups with minimal adjustment and scrapย 
  • Ability to use computers and production systems as requiredย
