Hourly Scripted Development Jobs (NOW HIRING)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Greenwood Village, CO is looking for a skilled contract SDET Wireless Engineer III to design, build, and maintain infrastructure automation across their environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on with Linux systems, has strong Ansible and Terraform experience, and can confidently work with databases including Cassandra and Oracle. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is required, but candidates should demonstrate sound independent engineering judgment rather than relying on AI as a crutch.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles to automate configuration management, deployment, and operational tasks
* Write and manage Terraform modules and state to provision and maintain infrastructure as code
* Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu or equivalent) in support of automation workflows
* Support and maintain database environments, including Cassandra (cluster health, schema/data operations) and Oracle (queries, tuning, basic administration)
* Integrate automation workflows with existing CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
* Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code assistants, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to improve efficiency and code quality, while validating, testing, and taking full ownership of all AI-assisted output
* Document playbooks, modules, and processes clearly for handoff and long-term maintainability
* Troubleshoot automation failures, infrastructure drift, and configuration issues across environments
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, database, security, and platform engineering) to understand requirements and deliver reliable automation solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
* Practical database experience with Cassandra and Oracle (querying, basic administration, and operational support)
* Demonstrated experience using AI tools to assist with development, scripting, or troubleshooting - with the ability to critically evaluate, test, and validate AI-generated output rather than depend on it blindly
* Strong scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar) to support automation and tooling
* Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a contract capacity
* Proven experience in automation engineering with a strong focus on Ansible (writing, structuring, and maintaining playbooks/roles) and Terraform (modules, providers, state management)
* Strong working knowledge of Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
Nice to Have:
* Basic understanding of Wi-Fi networking concepts (SSIDs, access points, wireless protocols/standards, basic troubleshooting)
* Experience with configuration management or IaC tools beyond Ansible/Terraform (e.g., Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation)
* Exposure to monitoring/observability tooling
* Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
