Job description

Position Overview

Samaritan Behavioral Health is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote outpatient therapy team. In this full-time role, you will leverage your mental health expertise to provide valuable therapy services to clients struggling with various psychological challenges. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments to identify client needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and solution-focused interventions.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that may include therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to address clients' mental health goals.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential clinical documentation conforming to HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of behavioral health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure integrated and comprehensive care.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and peer review meetings, offering insights and strategies to improve client outcomes.
  • Engage with clients and their families, providing education on mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Keep abreast of current research and advancements in the mental health field to inform clinical practice and enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves a diverse client base experiencing a range of emotional and mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and relationship dynamics. Your interventions will focus on empowering individuals to navigate and overcome their difficulties, enhance their resilience, and foster personal growth.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • An active license to practice as a LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State is essential for this position.
  • Proficiency in solution-based interventions and evidence-based psychotherapy techniques is necessary to meet the unique needs of clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for effective client interaction and collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are expected in order to navigate complex cases.

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience conducting assessments and implementing treatment plans in an outpatient setting is highly desirable.
