Job description

This is a Full-time position at Memphis Graceland RV Park & Campground having variable/flexible working hours to include weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required. Benefits will be offered after successful completion of a sixty (60) day introductory period. This is an internal/external recruitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Under the supervision of the RV Park Manager, assist the RV Park Manager with essential responsibilities and duties regarding the daily operations of the RV Park.:

  • Assist with the training and motivation of RV Park Clerks.
  • Acts as a role model to others in following policies and procedures of the company/department.
  • Represent the campground in a professional manner.
  • Provide superior guest service.
  • Oversee check-in/check-out and collect payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card processing and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Complete follow through of no-show, late cancellation charges and cancelling site reservations.
  • Assign camp sites, book reservations, and maintain records of camp site assignments.
  • Welcome all guests in a friendly manner and assist with any questions or concerns during their stay at the RV Park.
  • Help to ensure that all guests have an enjoyable experience while adhering to the park rules.
  • Provide and collect daily paperwork and reports as required.
  • Act as switchboard operator, receiving calls and taking messages.
  • Answer questions about services, checkout times, the local community, and attractions as well as other matters in public relations capacity.
  • Designated individual for POS entries/data.
  • Assist in maintaining the office/camp store in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
  • Stock and inventory gift/grocery & part items for retail
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:  Must have demonstrated leadership skills; ability to prioritize and work with minimum supervision; excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in person and on the telephone are essential; must have computer/POS experience; organizational skills to determine workload in a timely manner; ability to work quickly and accurately under constant pressure; must be able to communicate both in person and on the telephone with a wide variety of individuals; skill to exercise tact and diplomacy during discussions with campground guests; ability to problem solve; must demonstrate superior guest services/relations; ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality; a merchandise background with some knowledge of merchandising mathematics (mark up’s and pricing); knowledge of cash registers and cash handling experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to speak clearly and distinctly both in person and on the telephone; lift packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) lbs.; ability to stop and reach; ability to climb stairs; ability to stand for long period of time.
