WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist in our Chicago, Illinois, Green Bay, Wisconsin or West Allis, Wisconsin locations. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Work Methods & Development Consultant, Work Methods & Development Consultant, and Senior Work Methods & Development Consultant) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Learning and Development Specialist (Work Methods and Development Consultant) is responsible for the design and delivery of training programs. Responsible for analyzing, prescribing, and designing appropriate learning solutions employing instructional technologies and methodologies including but not restricted to Computer Based Training (CBT), Instructor Led Training (ILT) (virtual and classroom), Electronic Performance Support (EPS) (on-line and paper-based references), and video for the training and qualifications of Utility employees and contractors. Develops and updates training documentation as needed to ensure compliance with regulations, meet safety and operational needs and meets or exceeds industry standards. 

Job Responsibilities
  • For non-technical training, develop courses and curriculum utilizing sound instructional systems design methodology appropriate to the media or format selected for delivery. 
  • Use computer-based development tools to create and develop and maintain computer or web-based training. 
  • Develop instructional materials such as lesson plans, handouts, or examinations. Edit instructional materials, such as books, simulation exercises, lesson plans, instructor guides, and tests.
  • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of instruction according to ease of instructional technology use and student learning, knowledge transfer, and satisfaction. Analyze performance data to determine effectiveness of instructional systems, courses, or instructional material.
  • Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies and methods. Recommend changes to curricula or delivery methods, based on information such as instructional effectiveness data, current or future performance requirements, feasibility, and costs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in operations with the ability to develop, document and deliver adult learning programs.
  • Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)  
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints 
  • Experience working with project management methodology beneficial 
  • Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Dedicates required time and energy to overcome obstacles to completing tasks and assignments
  • Seeks and uses feedback and other sources of information to identify appropriate areas for learning
  • Understanding of basic adult learning concepts and practices beneficial
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of Lectora experience
  • Learning management system (LMS) experience
  • Instructional Design or adult learning and development background

Pay Range Minimum:  $68,436.68 

Pay Range Maximum:  $135,761.08 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
