Job description

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.
SUMMARY:
The QC Inspector is responsible for performing hourly quality checks on packaging, ensuring compliance with cGMP guidelines. Key duties include verifying lot numbers and expiration dates, maintaining accurate Batch Records, inspecting packaging components, and conducting equipment accuracy checks. The ideal candidate has knowledge of FDA/cGMP guidelines, basic math and writing skills, and strong communication abilities. The position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Fluency in English is required.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7 am - 5:30 pm
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 0 - 2 years experience in related field
  • Knowledge of FDA/cGMP guidelines
  • Basic writing and math skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform hourly quality checks of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods packaging according to company-defined attributes.
  • Maintain outgoing packaging quality levels and ensure compliance with cGMPs.
  • Verify lot numbers and expiration dates of finished packaging against the Certificate of Analysis and pick slip.
  • Confirm that packaging line clearance has been properly completed and release the line to Production.
  • Sign off on proper line preparation by initialing and dating the Equipment Use and Cleaning Log.
  • Ensure all pertinent information and required signatures are present on Batch Record forms.
  • Pull and record "beginning," "middle," and "end" packaging line retention samples.
  • Verify that all required documents are included in the Batch Record.
  • Inspect staged kit components awaiting packaging, as required.
  • Perform accuracy checks of weigh scales, in-line scales, and leak detection equipment as needed.
  • Conduct cap torque measurements as required.
  • Verify packaging specifications to meet customer requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on their feet throughout the entire workday. This role requires consistent physical activity, including standing, walking, and performing manual tasks in a fast-paced production environment. The ability to carry out these duties safely and effectively is essential to maintaining quality control and compliance with FDA/cGMP standards
