The Packaging Maintenance Technician will be involved in activities designed to maximize Packaging Department equipment availability and will also make corrective maintenance repairs to Packaging equipment during the production shift.
Meet daily with the first shift Packaging Maintenance Lead person to define priorities for the day's activities.
Perform corrective maintenance to production equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
Assist other shift Packaging Maintenance crews as needed.
Perform maintenance service request tasks as needed.
Participate in Packaging Maintenance Department project implementation and on QPI teams.
Assist with bench-work repairs to help maintain our spare parts inventory.
Identify opportunities for decreasing variation and cost of operation in Packaging processes and make recommendations for improvement.
Must be able to travel for training and assistance at other plant locations
Comply with all company Safety Policies.
Responsible for adhering to all food safety, quality and GMP procedures specific to this position
Equipment Operated:
All types of electric lifts used in the Packaging Department
Computers and maintenance diagnostic equipment including analog and digital multimeters, oscilloscope, pyrometer, photo-tachometer, strobe light, etc.
Fire extinguishers and other Safety equipment
Physical Requirements:
Constant walking, bending, stooping, and ladder climbing is required. Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds as frequently as four times a day. Must weigh less than 375 pounds in order to be able to wear fall protection.
You will have to complete a drug screen as part of the hiring process. Land O'Frost is a drug-free facility.
