Job Overview

:

The Training Instructor serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for electrical and Instrumentation & controls training delivery for Pro Academy. This position is responsible for the delivery of all course content ensuring every student receives a world class training experience. The Electrical/I&C Training Instructor is responsible for working closely with the Senior Training Instructor to review and improve current training content as well as developing new training programs and curricula. This position requires a strong focus on delivering quality course content through strong organizational skills and time management. They will also assist in the writing and editing of outlines, lectures, lab materials and validations tests. This position will also assist in evaluating software and collaboration tools to be selected for training. The successful candidate will be adept at prioritizing multiple projects within the scope of Pro Academy and be capable of instructing all Pro Academy course content related to general maintenance & safety, electrical, mechanical, fluid power and instrumentation & controls. This position may require the ability to travel (>50% of time) and be adept to a changing work schedule when class instruction requires it for on site instruction at customer facility. The successful candidate must be an effective problem solver that has a passion for our business, and a desire to improve both the lives and careers of Pro’s maintenance technicians as well as the technicians of our customer base. This position reports to the Director of Academic Affairs.

Essential Functions:

  • Delivery of all course content to ensure world-class training experience for every student.

  • Assist in the design, development, and continuous improvement of training curricula for Pro Academy including general maintenance & safety, electrical, mechanical, fluid power and instrumentation & controls.

  • Ensure all training materials comply with industry standards, OEM specifications, safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, NEC), and company policies.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating course materials, lab simulations, assessments and validations to reflect changes in equipment, systems, or regulations.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, validation scores and customer feedback.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all electrical and instrumentation & controls training curricula.

  • Serve as an instructor for all Pro Academy course content related to general maintenance & safety, electrical, mechanical, fluid power and instrumentation & controls.

Qualifications:

  • HS/GED and 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance setting is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or controls engineering, or Journeyman level Licensed Electrician, Controls Engineer, or equivalent experience with PLC programming experience with CPU’s and HMI’s.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with training, mentorship, coaching or leading individuals.

  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to problem-solve and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining timeliness and accuracy.

  • The candidate should have familiarity and ability to align with educational processes and maintenance department operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in written format at all levels inside and outside the organization.

  • Experience and passion for driving career development opportunities within an organization.

  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (G Suite).
