Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection Tasks:
    • Conduct inspections of reinforced concrete construction activities on-site, including formwork, reinforcement placement, concrete placement, structural masonry, sprayed-applied fireproofing, anchor/bolts, welding, post-tensioning, and soils.
    • Verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes (such as IBC, ACI).
  2. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Document inspection findings accurately and thoroughly.
    • Prepare detailed inspection reports, noting deficiencies and non-compliance issues.
    • Communicate inspection results to project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and project managers.
  3. Quality Assurance/Quality Control:
    • Ensure that all reinforced concrete construction and structural masonry meet regulatory requirements.
    • Perform tests and measurements as necessary to verify the strength and integrity of concrete and reinforcement materials.
  4. Code Compliance:
    • Stay current with ICC codes and standards relevant to reinforced concrete construction, structural masonry.
    • Interpret and apply building codes and engineering principles effectively during inspections.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues related to reinforced concrete construction.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to contractors and construction personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: ACI Field, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special, and ICC Structural Masonry Inspector certification required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in construction inspection, preferably with a focus on reinforced concrete and structural masonry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques related to reinforced concrete.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and document non-conformances and deficiencies accurately.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of analyzing situations and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a project team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
