Job Objective: Perform a variety of engineering work to install, improve, and evaluate new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes. Understand internal and external customer requirements, align work product with capability to minimize the cost of poor quality and maximize customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Utilize appropriate statistical and data analysis tools within a structured problem-solving approach to characterize and improve existing processes, and to translate customer requirements into repeatable and capable manufacturing processes.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze multi-phase validation runs to determine if new equipment, processes, and tooling meet functional performance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Project Charters and Implementation Plans (includes establishing project scope, anticipated gains, required resources, timelines, etc.)
  • Act as technical liaison to development groups, participate on design/project review teams. Develop product and equipment specifications to ensure resulting processes are manufacturing capable.
  • Support transfer of project solutions or new processes to on-going operations, through operator training and development of standard operating procedures, where applicable.
  • Establish and implement control plans to ensure project gains and improvements are realized and maintained over time.
  • Understand and contribute to the development of the operational strategy that in turn drives Operational Excellence activity regionally and globally.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Chemical or Plastics Engineering with 5-9 years industry experience. Mechanical, industrial, or other related Engineering fields considered with relevant knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of applied statistics, process validation, root cause analysis and Six Sigma Tools. Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management skills. Ability to self-pace learn including book, web-based, and classroom participation.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. (<10%)

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience utilizing Mini Tab statistical software. Knowledge of textile and/or plastics manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with web management and converting processes.
